Summary
Management starts with self-management. First we learn to manage ourselves as ICs. Then, as managers, we build on those techniques to manage a team. But the need for self-management remains. In this roundtable we'll discuss how we manage ourselves, what we've found useful, and what we've learned from our failures.

Gordon Seidoh Worley is the Engineering Manager at Anrok. After dropping out of a PhD in mathematics, Gordon worked at a series of startups where he wore many hats: software engineer, database administrator, project manager, accountant, negotiator, and team lead. After a stint in technical leadership at Plaid, he joined Anrok as their first engineering manager, where he's building teams and processes to enable Anrok's growth.
