Speakers
Olu Obembe is Vice President of Engineering at Salesforce. In this role, he leads development teams, ensuring design requirements are met and maintaining consistent user experiences. Olu has worked in technical roles within the company for more than a decade, developing transformative services, such as read-scaling, database connectivity, database health management, database scalability, global replication, core runtime, core containerization, and many others.
Prior to Salesforce, Olu was as a software engineer at IBM and Sterling Commerce, securing 9 patents ranging from managing database failure to recovering from service disruptions.
He has a passion for empowering underrepresented groups in STEM roles and played a key role in developing FutureForce Tech Launchpad, a Salesforce pre-internship program with hands-on, immersive experience to make students internship ready. Olu earned a Bachelor's of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Windsor and a Master's of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Timothy Lee is a co-founder and Chief Learning Officer of CodePath, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is reprogramming higher education to create the most diverse generation of software engineers, CTOs, and founders. CodePath delivers industry-vetted courses and career support centered on the needs of Black, Latino/a, Indigenous, and low-income students. CodePath students train with senior engineers, intern at top companies, and rise together to become the tech leaders of tomorrow.
Prior to CodePath, Tim was a co-founder and CTO of Miso, an innovative tech company funded by Google Ventures and Khosla Ventures, which was later acquired by Dijit Media. Prior to co-founding Miso, Tim worked as a real-time embedded systems engineer in various San Francisco Bay Area startups.
Tim holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, as well as a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
