In this session, we will hear from Joe Korngiebel, former CTO at Workday, who will talk about the how culture, passion, and repetition translate into a winning leadership formula for scale. In his time at Workday, Joe worked through the growth of the company from just a few crazy dreamers to a global footprint of over 10,000+ employees serving many of the largest companies in the world. This type of hyper-growth comes with all kinds of leadership successes and failures and Joe will share some of the experiences that shaped the leadership team along the way.
Joe is an enterprise technology executive that has driven innovation and growth in the software industry for over 20 years. Most recently, Joe served as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at Workday where he worked since the early days and led the strategic direction of the company’s technology. Prior to the CTO role at Workday, Joe was senior vice president of experience technology and design, where he led strategy and development for Workday’s user experience and mobile technology. During his tenure, Joe also founded Workday Labs, the company's center for research and innovation. Throughout his career, Joe has served in a variety of key technical and leadership roles fostering and building enduring cultures through his leadership by example.
Joe holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
