Make the Leap to Founder

About this Event

Are you thinking about what's next?

We’re getting together a small group of people from top tech companies that are considering how and when to make the leap to founder. If you're interested in meeting a group of like-minded people in a confidential setting to get feedback on your ideas, find potential co-founders, and hear stories from people who have done it before, we'd love to have you join us on Wednesday, February 19th.

At this casual, intimate dinner, we’ll be joined by Mike Duboe and Seth Rosenberg, investors from Greylock who have been in your shoes. We're only taking a handful of people for this dinner to make sure that you spend your time with great people in an environment that is both casual and confidential.

Seth works with entrepreneurs who are building consumer products and platforms from messaging to e-commerce to AR, VR, apps, games, and more. Prior to joining Greylock, Seth worked as a Product Manager at Facebook where he led initiatives for the Messenger Developer Platform. He oversaw the transition from Facebook to a standalone Messaging app, managed integrations with key partners, such as Uber, Lyft and KLM, and launched the open developer platform, with over 30,000 developers. In just two years, Messenger went from 200 million users to 1 billion users.

Before Facebook, Seth worked at Goldman Sachs in New York doing tech & media investment banking. At Goldman, Seth helped take companies public, including RetailMeNot and Intelsat, worked on financings for AT&T, and helped with the sale of Tekelec to Oracle. Seth received a Bachelor of Commerce with Honors from Queen’s University.

Seth is originally from Winnipeg, Canada and is a West Coast transplant.

Mike partners with product and distribution obsessed entrepreneurs building consumer-focused technologies.

Mike is a growth executive who has created, scaled, and led cross-functional growth teams from Series A through IPO across a span of businesses including consumer marketplaces, retail and online commerce platforms, and social payments networks. He is passionate about helping entrepreneurs deepen their understanding and subsequent control over their growth levers, with an emphasis on organizational and operating principles to create sustainable growth (not “hacks”).

Prior to Greylock, Mike joined Stitch Fix as the first Growth hire. He hired, scaled, and led the in-house Growth team through IPO, overseeing functions spanning all performance marketing (paid social, SEM, programmatic, affiliate), offline marketing (TV, radio, direct mail, podcast), SEO, mobile growth, and partnerships. Mike also built & led the Growth organization at Tilt (acquired by Airbnb), overseeing analytics, marketing, referrals/virality, conversion, and community. He was involved as an advisor to early and growth-stage startups via YC, Stripes Group, SignalFire, and Reforge — on both the marketing and product sides of growth. Earlier in his career, Mike was a consultant with Bain & Company and worked in the Private Equity practice.

Mike holds a BS & MS in Industrial & Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan, and an MBA from Stanford University. Mike’s thirst for exploration and discovery has taken on new meaning since his son Tanner was born in 2017.
