The Speaker

Wade Chambers (https://www.linkedin.com/in/wadechambers/), VPE @ Twitter (https://twitter.com/), will speak at this event. Wade is a renowned engineering leader in Silicon Valley with extensive experience (previously VPE @ TellApart, Yahoo, Opsware, AOL, etc). I was fortunate to meet him once, and I was totally blown away by how much I learned about engineering leadership in just one hour.

Check out Wade's recently interviews by Greylock to learn more about him: Increasing Your Team's Capacity to Win (https://news.greylock.com/increasing-your-teams-capacity-to-win-podcast-1edc049109c6#.6d58sfh5d), The Art of Interviewing 10x Engineers (https://news.greylock.com/the-art-of-interviewing-10x-engineers-b0032ce9e4d9#.y3q9aojyg).

The Talk

The fast track to VP of Engineering (VPE)

"Over my 25 of years of experience including being a VP of Engineering at both public and private companies, I have invested a lot of time to both understand how to become a VPE, grow ICs into VPEs, and coach VPEs. Over this period of time, I paid attention to what accelerated or retarded progress and started to build/test theories around what makes a great VPE and skills to be mastered to become one. I would like to present some of these lessons learned the hard way in hope they can accelerate your career and help you avoid the 'trial and error' approach that is so prevalent in today's market." - Wade
